Candles must be used carefully and basic safety rules must be followed to eliminate the risk of fire. If you manufacture or distribute candles, you are required to print safety rules on the labels; pictograms are also acceptable.
• Never leave a burning candle unattended.
• Burn candles out of the reach of children and pets.
• Always burn candles upright in a suitable non-flammable holder, positioned on a stable heat-resistant surface.
• Never burn candles near curtains or other items that may catch fire.
• Never move a candle when lit or while the wax is still hot.
• Always leave a distance between burning candles (the minimum safety distance depends on the type and size of the candles).
• Burn candles in well ventilated rooms but away from draughts.
• Do nοt burn a candle continuously for more than its maximum burning time (frοm 1 to 4 hours, depending on the diameter).
• Do not burn a candle all the way down. Extinguish the flame if it comes too close to the holder or container.
• Decorated candles and candles with embedded objects should be extinguished before the flame comes close to any object that could catch fire.
• Always snuff out the flame. Do not blow it out. Never use water.
